From monoliths to products

The monoliths of basalt lava after extraction are transferred and kept in the factory ready to be cut and processed according to the production programs.
The cutting of the monoliths is carried out by machines with special blades that transform each monolith into homogeneous blocks, and then in plates of variable thickness according to the formats.
With the milling machines we will proceed to the processing of the surface of the plates in order to achieve the final product.
After finishing the production operations and according to the cuts and destinations, all the artifacts are packed and stacked in protected pallets.
The Lavic Stone
Styles of basalt processing

Shot blasting
Is achieved with a continuous action of jets of steel grit of different sizes that corrode the surface of the material giving it an uneven appearance. The material, treated in this way, is non-slip and this makes it suitable for walking surfaces such as swimming pools, shower bases, etc...

Polishing
Step necessary to make very bright the polished surface enhancing the aesthetic quality, color and the veinings. It is realized for a value internal environments, especially for the impact of elegance and brightness that produces.

Bandsaw
Cut of the stone obtained by the use of wire and diamond disc. The result is a semifinished rather regular which is the basis for the next processing step, but can also be used for external paving by polishing or polishing on the spot.

Bush hammering
Type of processing performed with machines equipped with special tips that hitting on the surface of the slabs in order to produce an orange skin effect. Is particularly suitable for external enviroments because it has a non-slip effect, but can also be used in the interior furnishings in many interesting aesthetic combinations.

Smoothing
Final step obtained with the use of abrasive discs assisted by water jets. These have the function to delete all the imperfections of the material making the surface perfectly smooth and flat. The final product (with the characteristic sponge effect) is used for indoor and outdoor flooring.
