The extraction of the monoliths
From the Basaltic Lava quarry of Vizzini is possible to take the basalt just below 10-15 cm of earth.
That's why it does not pollute environment and landscape with large excavations, but rather it makes arable the land on which he worked.
Before the extraction of the lavic stone it is necessary to choose the best monoliths checking their compactness, the presence of internal cavities and polluting colours.
The ability to choose the monoliths is the product of our long experience on the quarry and avoids cutting basalt with physical and optical defects. This prevents waste and inefficiency.
The quality of the stone is a decisive factor; the best basalt (born from the clash between magma and water) is in that way carefully selected and extracted from the quarry.
